Two Sisters Soaps.
Two Sisters Soap Co. was founded by sisters Sue and Sally with the goal of producing naturally formulated soap and shampoo bars that would be easy on the skin, moisturizing, and using only pure, natural ingredients.
Two Sisters use only high quality essential oils to create the wonderful aromas and therapeutic properties found in their soap. Most fragrance oils have been manufactured using petroleum byproducts to mimic the fragrance of a natural aroma (be wary of products claiming they are made “with” essential oils, usually there is a minimal amount of essential oil used). Although more expensive than artificial fragrances, our essential oils are naturally derived from plants to ensure that they are as good for you as they are for our planet.
Shampoo bars, our most popular product, are filled with natural oils to help condition and moisturize the scalp and hair. Many customers who use our shampoos do so because our shampoo bars help eliminate dry scalp, eczema, and dandruff problems.
Two Sisters natural soaps are created through a chemical process known as saponification (soap-making) in which plant based oils (some folks also use animal fats) are mixed with a highly alkaline solution known as lye. The lye and the plant oils react to form soap, glycerin, and water. the water evaporates during the curing process while all of the lye used is transformed into soap and glycerin. Unlike store bought products, we keep all of the naturally occurring glycerin in our soap to provide better moisturizing properties, rather than selling the glycerin as a byproduct. We also make sure to allow our soaps to cure in order to ensure all of the lye is able to react with the oils. Some of the oils we use for saponification are: coconut, castor, olive, soy, cocoa butter, jojoba, and honey.
All of our soaps are labelled with exactly what was used to make it, feel free to ask about any of them to find out specifically what is in it, we’ll always be happy to let you know.
