Thank you to our 2015 CSA participants

Well! It has been a great year, and we are glad everyone was able to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of our labor. We have created a facebook page for our CSA program to help make information more widely available to the public. You can find our new Spring Bluff CSA Facebook page at

We do have quite a haul at this point though, and so I'm starting to consider how I am going to preserve them for winter. I found this excellent resource that discusses canning and pickling.  (Click here)

Healthier Convenience Foods

So school has started, and for many of us that means busy, harried evenings.  We definitely fit into that camp. Yesterday, I had to pick up my eldest from school, pick up our CSA share, drop my daughter off at softball, pick up my husband from the train, and pick up my daughter from softball

The Joy of Growing

Up until recently (very recently!) I would have told you that there are two things I'm not very good at: cooking and gardening. Well, I'm happy to tell you that I finally feel like I can pass as a cook.  I'm not a terribly original cook.  A look at my posts will show you that

New Purple Potatoes

Well, I have finally had the time to put some of our new purple potatoes to the test. I have been waiting for the crop to be ready all year, because I had read last year, that purple colored vegetables have high amounts of the anti-oxidant anthocyanin, the same antioxidant found in blueberries and aronia

Fresh Salsa

So I have been sick for quite awhile now.  Actually, today is day 8.  Unfortunately, this means we have been eating a bit less than creatively lately, getting by on old favorites while my brain couldn't function well enough to try something new. But the good news is that I am ever so slowly getting

Cabbage Chaos!!!

Due to our rainy and cool summer our cabbage has taken over the farm!  You might get more that you want but they store ( washed, wrapped and refrigerated) for several weeks. One of the easiest ways to prepare cabbage is to simply slice about 1" thick, drizzle both sides with olive oil, sprinkle
